Book Review

I would be doing about the book "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". It is a collection of short stories written by Sir Conan Doyle Personally, I feel that if you like mystery books, this would definitely be a good read. However, if you are not, then readig this book can be a tiring as Holmes had a different type of logic from the most of us.

In the first story called" A Scandal in Bohemia", Sherlock Holmes was called on by the King of Bohemia to check out an opera singer named Irene Adler. The king's agents tried to buy Irene's evidence but to no avail. Should the evidence be leaked, The Kings in-laws-to-be would have a vry low opinion of the king.

Holmes dressed as an out-of-work groom and managed to get useful information about Irene Adler. Miss Adler had a friend named Godfrey Norton. On that day, Norton visited Miss Adler. Both of them bounded for the Church of St. Monica. Sherlock Holmes followed in a cab and Saw Godfrey Norton's and Irene Adler's  wedding.

Holmes disguised again, this time as a simple-minded clergyman who fell down with his face bloodied. Irene Adler tended to Holmes. However, as soon as Holmes raised his hand, Watson, his assistant, threw a plumber's rocket through the window. All the people hired by Holmes shouted "Fire!" Adler rushed to take something from a panel in the livig room.

When Holmes and Watson reached home, they heard a voice saying "Goodnight, Mister Sherlock Holmes." The voice was familar to Holmes though he could not remember it. The next day, Holmes, Watson and the king arrived at Irene Adler's house, only to find that it was empty. There was a letter written by Irene Adler on the table saying that she had exposed Sherlock Holmes' true identity and that the king would not be held in any more scandals.
